I haven't updated in over a year and a lot of things happened within that time too!
I graduated high school last summer (WOOO CLASS OF 2015) and got accepted to a liberal arts college! I'm currently pursuing a digital media arts major, but lately I've been debating whether or not I should transfer to art school so I can get more hands on practice with my trade. I wonder if I'll do my graduate studies in California? Sounds interesting and daunting, but I'm not sure yet. In the future, I hope to do work as an animator with DreamWorks or Pixar, but I'd like to wet my feet a little first and maybe apply for an internship (I'm not sure where yet). Should I do my undergraduate studies at my current university or transfer to art school? I'm still a bit lost, but things will eventually work itself out!
As for my art life, I haven't worked on any big projects which I'm really really regretful about because I really need to develop my portfolio (although I guess I can add some works from my uni projects I'm assigned). Just a few sketches from here to there, but I've been unconfident a reluctant to finish sketch pieces because I either usually find mistakes or find a hard time choosing color palettes... I'm really excited to work on animation projects in my animation class and I hope to upload a short project soon! It's a sort of 8-bit/16-bit sprite narrative about running to the market. As I said in my previous journal, I'm more active on my tumblr account (www.niwatorineko.tumblr.com
). I only upload sketches from time to time I hope to be more active and upload art very soon!
Let's hope for a great 2016!
